NORTH­WEST FLORI­DA BEACH­ES INTER­NA­TION­AL AIR­PORT EMER­GENCY ORDER 25 – 01

POLAR PLUNGE

WHERE­AS, as of 12:00 p.m. CDT, on Mon­day Jan­u­ary 20, 2025, the Flori­da Divi­sion of Emer­gency Man­age­ment issued a Hard Freeze warn­ing for North­west Flori­da includ­ing Bay Coun­ty and fore­casts as extreme cold front (the Polar Plunge”) bring­ing dan­ger­ous­ly cold temps & wind chills through­out North Flori­da; and

WHERE­AS, the Flori­da Divi­sion of Emer­gency Man­age­ment issued of a Win­ter Storm Watch on Mon­day, Jan­u­ary 20, 2025, cov­er­ing the Flori­da Pan­han­dle; and

WHERE­AS, the Polar Plunge cre­ates a sig­nif­i­cant risk of extreme cold tem­per­a­tures, snowy and icy con­di­tions, and icy roads around the Air­port and in the neigh­bor­ing area in Bay Coun­ty which requires post­pon­ing the Board­’s reg­u­lar­ly sched­ule Board meeting. 

NOW THERE­FORE, I, MARK SHEL­DON, CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF DIREC­TORS FOR THE PANA­MA CITY — BAY COUN­TY AIR­PORT AND INDUS­TRI­AL DIS­TRICT, in accor­dance with the pro­vi­sions of Chap­ter 252, Flori­da Statutes, and Chap­ter 29 of the Board Oper­at­ing Pro­ce­dures of the Board of Direc­tors pro­mul­gates the fol­low­ing Emer­gency Order to take effect as pro­vid­ed herein: 

1. Board Meet­ing Post­poned. The reg­u­lar meet­ing of the Board of Direc­tors set for 9:00 am, CDT, Wednes­day, Jan­u­ary 22, 2025, is here­by post­poned until 9:00 am, Jan­u­ary 292025

THIS ORDER shall be effec­tive imme­di­ate­ly upon execution.
