NORTHWEST FLORIDA BEACHES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT CELEBRATES UNITED AIRLINES INAGURAL FLIGHTS
PANAMA CITY, FL (March 5, 2015) – In celebration of United Airlines joining Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) with new daily, non-stop service to Houston’s Georg Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), passengers on the inaugural flights were welcomed with a traditional water canon salute and in-terminal celebration.
The first United Express flight, operated by ExpressJet, arrived from Houston (United 4402) at 1:34 p.m. and the first flight departed from Panama City Beach (United 4489) at 2:30 p.m. Passengers were welcomed to Northwest Florida with a gift bag filled with fun items and information about the region and its beautiful beaches.
“We are excited to celebrate expanded service with United Airlines to Houston, connecting our passengers to worldwide destinations,” said Parker W. McClellan, Jr., airport executive director.
United will offer twice-daily nonstop United Express service to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). The new service will link the region to United’s Houston hub offering one-stop connections to other cities in the airline’s global route network, as well as connections to additional cities in the Star Alliance network. From its Houston hub, United serves 176 domestic and international destinations, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
ECP continues to grow and offer additional air service to passengers in the region. This celebration is the first of several in the coming weeks, with Southwest Airlines and Silver Airways to welcome inaugural flights to the airport.
