UNITED SEES SUCCESS AT NORTHWEST FLORIDA BEACHES INTERNATIOAL AIRPORT
PANAMA CITY, FL (Sept. 17, 2015)—United Airlines has awarded the ECP station the STAR award that recognizes airline teams that work together to enhance performance.
The Start The Airline Right (STAR) is a performance program implemented across United Airlines. The STAR Program tracks various performance measurements on flights that take off before 9:00 am. If the day starts off with on-time departures, it helps minimize delays throughout the day. The program also emphasizes working with business partners, who share a vested interest in the success of the airline.
Each month, United recognizes winners in each tier based on the highest achievers for STAR performance. The STAR competition is based on daily departures at each station — Tier 1 (hubs), Tier 2 (8−15 flights per day), Tier 3 (4−7 flights per day), Tier 4 (1−3 flights per day), and Tier 5 (United Express — managed stations).
“The STAR award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our United team to take care of customers flying in and out of the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport,” said Parker McClellan, executive director of the airport. “We look forward to seeing United continue to grow and excel at ECP.”
United Airlines joined ECP in March with nonstop daily flights to George Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston (IAH) with connections to United’s global network. The service connects the region to United’s Houston hub, offering one-stop connections to other cities in United’s global route network, as well as connections to additional cities in the Star Alliance network. From its Houston hub (IAH), United serves 176 domestic and international destinations, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
