NORTH­WEST FLORI­DA BEACH­ES INTER­NA­TION­AL AIR­PORT (ECP) AWARD­ED $10 MIL­LION BIPAR­TI­SAN INFRA­STRUC­TURE LAW GRANT 

FUND­ING TO SUP­PORT ECP NORTH TER­MI­NAL EXPAN­SION PROGRAM 

PANA­MA CITY, Fla. (OCTO­BER 28, 2024) – North­west Flori­da Beach­es Inter­na­tion­al Air­port (ECP) has been select­ed as one of 125 air­ports nation­wide to receive fund­ing through the Bipar­ti­san Infra­struc­ture Law com­pet­i­tive grants for air­port ter­mi­nal devel­op­ment projects. ECP will receive $10 mil­lion to fund a por­tion of the North Ter­mi­nal Expan­sion Pro­gram, which con­sists of the con­struc­tion of an improved bag­gage han­dling area, more acces­si­ble restrooms, and an expand­ed secu­ri­ty check­point area. 

“We are grate­ful to be one of the air­ports select­ed to receive this fund­ing,” said Park­er W. McClel­lan, Exec­u­tive Direc­tor of ECP. ​“The grant will allow us to enhance our facil­i­ties, improve the pas­sen­ger expe­ri­ence, and sup­port our Region’s con­tin­ued growth and demand.” 

$970 mil­lion will be award­ed from the BIL to 125 U.S. air­ports. Through the BIL, a total of $5 bil­lion has been allo­cat­ed ($1 bil­lion annu­al­ly from 2022 – 2026) to pro­vide com­pet­i­tive grants for air­port ter­mi­nal devel­op­ment projects that address the aging infra­struc­ture of the nation’s air­ports. These grants will fund safe, sus­tain­able and acces­si­ble air­port ter­mi­nals, air­port-owned air­port traf­fic con­trol tow­ers, and on-air­port rail and bus projects that improve mul­ti­modal con­nec­tions. This inter­ac­tive map shows how these funds are being invested.
